Abstract – The spread of radicalism towards terrorism and extremism is targeting young people through various means such as social media, articles, exclusive groups and veiled religious activities. Anxiety about this potential threat forms the background of the emergence of the peace community. The absence of standard definitions and policies regarding the suppression of radicalism makes prevention an alternative choice in its response. This research aims to explain prevention efforts through peace education and open space for interfaith dialogue as an effort of the synergy of peace communities. The emergence of a fairly massive peace community-led researcher to take the Young Interfaith Peacemaker Community (YIPC) Indonesia and its collaborators as research objects. This research used a qualitative case-study approach by collecting data through interviews, field observations and literature studies. The results showed that the peace community collaborated and synergized with the same vision to bring up new themes in the effort to prevent radicalism. Peace education which contains the values of peace is one of the program options and interfaith dialogue as an active progressive space. Both of these important themes are intended as an alternative way of preventing radicalism as a superior result of synergy among communities and communities to government institutions. Radicalism as one of the threats requires the participation of the civil society movement together with the government and a major component in efforts to maintain national security and national defense.
